How I work

I primarily work from an approach called narrative therapy. Narrative therapy is a collaborative process that helps people separate themselves from their problems. The goal of this separation is to allow people the distance to gain new perspectives on the problems affecting their lives. This space allows us to re-author those stories in ways that feel more authentic, promising, and hopeful for the future.

Additionally, I incorporate elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and trauma counselling where appropriate. I find these added approaches help people further understand the challenging experiences of their lives and learn new skills that support them through difficult times.
